Whether we’re aiming for a promo shot, a press image, or something more open-ended, I bring a mix of technical craft, intuition, and collaboration to the process. Sometimes we follow a clear vision; sometimes we throw the plan out the window and chase the unexpected.

It’s about light, connection, and creating a space where something real can happen.

In the studio, I love being in control of the lighting. It allows me to sculpt with light and shadow, to shape the frame with real intention. Before a shoot, I’ll always chat with the sitter to form a shared vision. But once we’re rolling, that can shift — sometimes in the best way. Spontaneity kicks in, and we’re off in a totally different, unexpected direction. That’s where the magic often happens.

Some shoots are clear-cut: a comic needs a promo shot, a playwright needs an image for a profile. Others are more fluid, more collaborative. It might start with a feeling I get about the person, or something they bring that we explore together. For me, it's about combining craft and intuition. When it works, it feels like a kind of alchemy.

But this work is about more than photography. It’s about being open and emotionally aware — creating a space where people feel safe, seen, and free to explore. Some arrive fully formed, stage persona in tow. Others take time to come out of themselves. Sometimes, if we’re lucky, there’s a moment when something honest breaks through — joy, sorrow, dignity, beauty. Those moments are rare and precious.
